This restaurant shines as a notable destination for food enthusiasts craving a mix of surf and turf delights, hearty Filipino and international dishes, and a welcoming atmosphere to match.

The menu expertly balances familiar favorites with unique offerings. Standouts include the Surf and Turf that pairs rich flavors of land and sea, and the Pan Seared Chicken with Creamy Mushroom Sauce, which delivers a tender, savory bite elevated by its lush sauce. Seafood lovers will appreciate options like the Seafood Chowder and the Seafood Linguine—both showcasing fresh ingredients and thoughtful seasoning. For those wanting a Filipino twist, the Paella Valenciana and the acclaimed Pumpkin Kare-Kare provide hearty, satisfying choices with authentic flavors highlighted by superb bagoong.

The ambiance strikes a rare balance on Maginhawa Street, known for its cozy but sometimes cramped eateries. Here, patrons enjoy spacious seating and a calm environment that supports easy conversation, making it ideal for family dinners, casual meetups, or even intimate dates. The attentive, polished staff enhance the experience, delivering service that feels both efficient and personable without intrusion.

Hot Off the Press appeals to a wide audience—from families drawn by generous portions and reasonable prices, to couples seeking a quiet spot with an elevated menu. Regulars praise the freshness and quality evident in every dish, like the tender beef tapsilog and the perfectly cooked, smoky tuna. Dessert lovers will find the Chocolate Mousse to be a refined treat, striking a balance of sweetness and texture that rivals some of Metro Manila’s best.

While the Americano may need a touch of refinement, the overall beverage selection complements the rich flavors of the meal. Parking may present a slight challenge during peak hours, but it’s a minor trade-off given the restaurant’s overall value and comfort.

For those exploring Quezon City's vibrant food scene, Hot Off the Press stands out as an inviting, well-rounded choice. Whether it's a relaxed lunch, a memorable family gathering, or a special date night, it confidently delivers a cozy setting paired with dishes that respect both tradition and innovation.

Was among the first to try out their Pumpkin Kare-Kare, their newest offering. Thick base with crunchy veggies and tasty pork. Of course the bagoong was superb. This dish is a hit at Hot Off The Press!

My mom keeps wanting to come back here to dine again. In simple words, it was an enjoyable family dinner. Prices were very reasonable, and the portions were adequate. Parking is available but can be very difficult when you're leaving.

This is probably the best place to eat at the Maginhawa strip--the food is great and the prices affordable. Unlike the cramped atmosphere in most Maginhawa restos, this place has lots of space. The staff seems well-trained and courteous. Plating is also superb as the pictures can tell you. The beef in the tapsilog is tender and meaty and their tuna is fresh (hindi malansa) and perfectly cooked with smoky flavor. You should also try the chicken and fish tenders as well as the grilled pork. Both are highly recommended. For dessert, the chocolate mousse is recommended. It's a not too sweet mix of cake and mousse that compares to the versions of the best restos in the Metro. However, their coffee needs a little improvement because the Café Americano seems to have more than enough hot water.

Had dinner with one of my friends here and we enjoyed our visit. The restaurant has a very homey atmosphere and it felt very safe; you could easily have a conversation and it wouldn't be too noisy. Prices were fair and the food was yummy :) serving portions were sufficient for sharing, which is great. We shared a salad, but the burger and pasta we ordered were also good for sharing hehe.

Although we have dined here before, we tried another visit to see how they are doing. Still the nice, cozy and fine ambience, they used to have. Food, maybe a little on the high side, but the servings are for sharing. And tastes more than the average.Service is fine. And the servers are ready, when you need them. This is another of those dating places, that must be on your list.

I have dined here for a number of times already, and the one that really draws me here is the ambience. The restaurant has this homey feel that can get anyone relaxed from the get go. The food is amazing, especially their club sandwiches and steak. Their service is also generally good, though for some reason the servers were not as attentive during our last visit. Nevertheless, they remain nice and polite.
